LONDON FASHION WEEK DAY 5

DAY 5: Mary Katranzou, Emilio De La Morena, Amanda Wakeley, Charlotte Olympia Fashion Film Preview Party

Mary Katranzou was the first show of a very busy day. After an amazing collection last season, the pressure was on for Mary to create an equally amazing collection for all her new adoring fans. The show was held at the Topshop Show Space on Lower Thames Street. I loved the location, plus it was much warmer than last seasons location at the old Eurostar terminal in Waterloo! Guests were greeted with breakfast, coffee and fresh fruit smoothies courtesy of the very popular Topshop Cafe. The collection was a very cool mix match of prints on flowing mis-shapen dresses, trouser suits, peplums and jackets. The massive round of applause when Mary appeared at the end confirmed that she has nailed this season too. Go Mary!

My highlight: The incredible Christian Louboutin metalic shoe boots with stud details. Wow.

Guests Included: Yasmin Le Bon (in gorgeous Giles), Caroline Sieber in head to toe Chanel, Alexandra Shulman, Imran Ahmed, Hamish Bowles and Suzy Menkes.

Emilio De La Morena was held at the BFC Show Space at Somerset House which kind of disappointed me as last year Emilio was held in a car park which was really exciting. I am a massive fan of Emilio De La Morena, especially after last seasons collection and I think this season was equally as amazing. I loved the pops of red which seems to be everywhere at the moment, and i loved the high ruffled necks which was also spotted at Temperley London.

Plus shoes were created by the one and only.. Charlotte Olympia. Yum.

Amanda Wakeley was also held at the BFC Show Space at Somerset House. I wasn't a massive fan of the collection at the beginning which seemed to feature lots of black and black long haired pieces as seen at Giles this season, Emilio 2 seasons ago, at Willow and more. But i loved when the collection suddenly brought in pops of orange mixed with earthy camels. I especially loved the array of sophisticated coats, gold slouchy accents and use of orange.

My favourite event of Fashion Week (although i was just working on the door) was the Charlotte Olympia's Presentation of the film 'To Die For.' I helped set up with the A.Mazing Charlotte Dellal and her fabulous (the only word i could possibly use) mum- Andrea Dellal. The new collection is probably her best yet- which is definitely saying something, and features cats, impossibly high wedges, velvet, quilting and beautiful bold colours. The presentation was held at Marks Club- a private members club in Mayfair, the perfect setting to introduce the very sexy, yet mysterious film accompanying this seasons collection. The rooms were set up like a living room with the new collections shoes sprawled in cabinets, on coffee tables and in the alcohol cabinets. Guests drank Belveder Vodka, Tea, and ate mini sandwiches, pastries, and scones.

Guests included: The very fabulous Andrea Dellal, Olivia Palermo, Portia Freeman ( and star of 'To Die For') Edie Campbell, Suzy Menkes, some really friendly NYC 'it' girls, Bonnie Rakhit and more!

LONDON FASHION WEEK DAY 2

Charles Anastase AW11
Charles Anastase went off with a bang bright and early this morning. The collection was beautiful, and was inspired by childhood garments of shrunken proportion. Amazing silks, peterpan collars, coats and sky high wedges. Plus, large amounts of frizzy hair to match the horrible weather!
Appearances from Alexa Chung, Nicola Roberts, Charlotte Dellal and Imran Ahmed (Editor of The Business of Fashion website, and the guy who inspired my dissertation.)
Matthew Williamson and Temperly tomorrow!

Charlotte Olympia.

Charlotte Olympia Scans from SS11 Lookbook.
During fashion week i helped set up a dinner for Charlotte Olympia and some of her industry friends. The dinner decorations included dyed pink pineapples, Palm tree leaves and shoes on the mantelpiece. It was pretty spectacular. Charlotte's new collection is amazing, out of this world even! She never fails to disappoint, Charlotte really knows what girls love. The whole collection is inspired by the tropical, so think new perspex clutches with little pineapples as clasps, a lot of leopard print and bright colours. wow.

(Rubbish quality as was taken on my phone!)

Charlotte Olympia Love.

I think i fell completely and uttely in love with Charlotte Olympia shoes the moment i stepped into the Relative MO offices. The A/W2010 collection is beyond incredible and i can't wait to post pieces from the it. I spend my day deciding which ones are my favourite, but i don't think i could choose. The shoes are of such high quality, with quirky little details plus the iconic golden spider webb is amazing.
wow.
