Topman Design Update.

Moodboard i made showing the structure of the Topman Portfolio.

We have our Topman Design presentation tomorrow and to say i feel a little unprepared is an understatement.

Firstly i don't think anyone understood the actual brief until a week ago, plus it's been quite hard to work in our new group. I was actually excited to do a project on Topman Design and looking into menswear etc, but with everything that's happened i just feel all bleeegh. However, i think I've come a little too addicted to the research file we have to do...

I've just checked out some of Stephan's work, something i always mean to do when i discover a new photographer. According to Google images he seems to be the god of beach fashion photography. Here's a few of my favourite below.

Mulberry

I love this seasons Mulberry advertising. They usually pull somehting a bit different out of the bag (pun not intended!!) and this season is no different. I love the brand as a whole, and the other day when admiring the new alexa in House of Fraser, and casually showing my parents some bags i liked, i picked up their (incredibly amazing) look book. Its shiny and pink with mirror like pages against images. They really know the way to a girls heart. I love the fair ground theme they have used this season, and the colours all really work well together.

Basically i heart Mulberry.

The effect is amazing. Reminds me of the Kate Moss for Topshop campaign that i love and also the Pepe Jeans campaign from forever ago with Sienna Miller. This effect could turn tackey, however due to the riske nature, it kind of tones it down, giving it a more arty edge.

Birthday*

On Monday I turned the not so exciting age of 20. Amongst a crazy busy week i managed to fit in some pretty amazing things with some pretty amazing people and got well and truely spoilt. Last night my housemate Sam and i (we share the same birthday) had our 'S' themed party. I will post the pictures soon; we had some preeety crazy outfits arrive!

Can Kate Moss ever look any less than amazing? My boyfriend definitely knows the way to my heart, he bought me this months Vogue for my birthday and o.m.g Kate is on the front cover. She looks incredible here, the photography is equally incredible and i just love the whole concept.

Lara

As much as i hate to admit this, Lara looks incredible in this image. It reminds me of a photo i blogged a while ago of Kate Moss.

I had a tutorial in DVC the other day to discuss our 3rd year dissertation. All this blogging of fashion imagery has inspired me to consider writing about something to do with this subject. I have no idea where to begin or what to focus on, and i feel like my summer is going to suck cause of the stess of dissertation stuff. But maybe if i continue all this soemthing dissertation like will come out of it :)

Natasha Poly, wow. I love the concept of these images, but i feel they get a bit samey after a while.

This week has been mental, today is the first day in forever that i feel i can breathe! Its been a week of Campaigning for my boyfriend, fashion show, more campaigning, no sleep, early mornings, book making, alcohol and a little bit more campaigning. My birthdays on Monday, very excited. Dressing up as 'Silver' for sam and mines S fancy dress party on Wednesday. Woop!

I can see the light.

I seem to never stop. This past few weeks has been filled with finishing Kickers, starting Topman Design project, recording a song in London with the Nokia Connectors at the same place Band Aid did, grandparents visiting, Campaigning for the boyfriend, going out, finding out Nokia have amazingly hocked me up with some amazing work experience, more Topman, not being able to read the Massssive stack of exciting looking magaiznes i have and i'm sure there's more. In between campaining and Topman i managed to find these incredible images on www.fashionising.com.

Vogue Nippon seems to get their photo shoots so right every issue. These images of Daria Werbowy are amazing. I've mentioned how much i love lighting...and these pictures are all about the striking use of lighting. The location is incredible, and for once doesn't really play on the whole beach/sea thing! The first image is A.mazing...i want it on my wall, and equally so is the last. The images are full of energy, which is emphasised by the surroundings.

Pure wow.

Also http://www.fashionising.com/ is amazing. i check it probably 10 times a day. Definitly worth checking out!

Topman Design

Lisa and I have officially started our Topman Design project today.

Topman Design was launched in Autumn/Winter 2005 and has become a directional premium collection, stocked online at www.topman.com, the London Oxford Circus and New York Flagships as well as Key international stores including La Foret in Tokyo, Incu in Sydney, and Shine in Hong Kong. With a growing and almost cult following, the collections have evolved over the seasons. Topman Design also features at London Fashion Week, giving them a massive competitive advantage.

Today we made (another!) blog which i may, or may not share ith you!? Definitely excited for this brief, maybe because we get to research men all day long who knows...!? Today we also had a lecture given by Jumana Sodawala, the Senior Buyer and Topman. It was really interesting to find out the behind the scenes process and lead times etc.

I feel like i've learnt alot today...

Ooooh Tom..

Ohh he's done it again. I think my Crush on Tom Ford has just got a little bit bigger....

This advert is amazing. It screams sex and sophistication; its glossy, cheeky, and practically ticks every box.

It so simple..but somehow tom Ford always gets it completely right. I love the monochrome colour pallet and also how it subtly promotes his new film (which i have to see by the way!)
